This comes from when a woman who gave birth during a flight from Apia to Auckland. It is alleged that the woman who hadn’t stated on her visa application form that she was pregnant, conceived and abandoned the new born in the planes in-flight bathroom.

The 28 year old was traveling to New Zealand last Friday to pick kiwifruit, as she works as a regional seasonal scheme worker. The new born was dumped into the rubbish bin, and was found shortly after the plane had landed.

The Samoan Government have said that the woman had ticked ‘no’ for the box that’s asks specifically ‘are you pregnant’ on her visa application form. The form was handed in completed with signature below the declaration stating that all the information in the visa form was correct and true.

She is now in Auckland’s Middlemore Hospital receiving treatment after she had forgotten her passport when trying to exit the airport. The woman looked for help from airport authorities, who noticed that she was pale and bloodstained.

Police that are investigating have suggested that charges are likely to be pressed.
