This week the United Kingdoms total job loss has reached around 3,600. British Airways and a cigarette company are cutting more then 500 jobs between them. Another gloomy week for the people of the UK. British Airways blamed the ‘tough economic climate’ for the job cuts. It is believed that they will be cutting around 300 jobs, with a hope of voluntary redundancy. A British Airways spokesperson said ‘The scheme was designed to meet some demand for redundancy in some parts of the business and where it is possible to release people and not replace them. We are pleased with the take up and 300 people will leave the airline under this scheme at the end of May’
